Day 27 - GNR - Saturday

I was awake at 5:30 as usual but the others slept until after 9:00.  I had woken up once during the night to the pitter patter of rain on the roof and and had checked on Dillon - I was still worried about him - even though he was laughing and joking before bed you never can tell with a head injury and we didn’t know if he had hit his head. We had breakfast and spent some time talking to some of our neighbours around us - comparing Navions as that is where we chose to be located - with similar rigs in the Navion/View section. They were quite impressed with our set-up and couldn’t believe we had all our “stuff” (BBQ, shelter, tables, chairs etc.) plus 4 people and a dog in only 24 feet. They were even more astonished that we’d been on the road for over three weeks. Most people around us so far (GNR doesn't actually start until next week) are single people or couples - they didn’t require as much stuff.
As it was still raining, we left Dale still chatting and the teens and I took the People Mover up to The Winnibago Visitors Centre to kill some time. They have a great museum all about Winnebago Products and how the company got started. Of course the WIT Store is also there and Kasey and I wanted to see all the goodies we might purchase with my 50/50 winnings! (Guess who won that argument?) We bought some T- shirts and Dillon bought himself a “Neck Wallet” - he said he figured that if he had to hang out with all the “old” people he might as well look like one. I think that secretly he was jealous of everybody and he really wanted to look as cool as the rest of us!
The Warcup's are "Out Of This World"!
Our new rally T-shirts and Dillon's "neck wallet".
(Note the setting sun on our legs as we head to off to Bingo!)

We went back to the RV and spent the rest of the afternoon passing time by trying to stay out of the continuing RAIN! We had an early dinner of hamburgers as we had skipped lunch and wouldn’t you know it - it finally stopped raining just in time for us to head inside the Friendship Centre to play Bingo. We came back to the RV after Dale winning $5.00 and had a campfire (portable, propane) with s’more’s before bed.

Terri Breitenstein from Fraser Valley Explorers was our first commenter on yesterdays post - I'm sure we'll have something special for her as a souvenir.

  1. The rain just keeps following you folks! Hope it improves for you! Because of the rain, are the mozzies / bugs bad? When we were there in 2011, for folks like Ron and Darlene Scott that the bugs love, they were horrible. Love reading your blog!
