Day 34 - GNR - Saturday

Our First Winnebago - 1975 Brave - "Winnberghini"

My Wishfully Thinking  New Winnebago - 2015 Brave
We had another lazy morning - it seems to be getting easier to do this more and more every day (I must be getting used to retirement) even though I still wake between 4:00 to 5:30 AM. I usually write the blog at this time as it’s the best time to get the free Wi-Fi - I wonder why that is?!?!? We decided to forgo the trip to town for “Puckerbush Days” that is going on at the same time as the rally including the parade where they throw candy and sponges to you.
Cancer Society Towable
(A big thanks to my Washington neighbour Arlis who brought me a couple of sponges and a scrubber so I wouldn't miss out!) We wandered through all the dealer rigs, oohing and aahing at the new stuff - Kasey and Dillon have picked out the new rig we should get. In fact Kasey picked out numerous ones - actually almost everyone! We told them they’d better get themselves a job and start saving - they ought to be able to afford one by the time they’re our age if they start now! Dale liked the new 2015 Navion but I really like the one I have more so we’ll stick with this one. As Dale says - it has everything the big rigs have except dance floor room and he doesn’t dance! A bonus is at 16MPG he can go across the continent AND afford to come back again!

We had a quick lunch of Hot Dogs as the teens had to hurry off to the Midway Rides again from Noon until 4:00 PM along with Bungy Jumping and a Rock Climbing Wall. There was also ice cream plus face painting and tattooing (only Kasey partook of this - no face painting only the tatoo!)
K.C.!
They then had to hurry back to eat so they wouldn’t miss the farewell dance from 6-9:15 PM complete with a DJ! Dillon and his friend came back after 1/2 hour saying it was lame and watched movies instead - teenage boys! Kasey and her two friends came back close to 10PM saying it was great - teenage girls!

"Happy Hour" with Friends
As for the adults - we had about a dozen people for “Happy Hour” at our rig from about 3:30 until 6:45 PM when everyone dispersed to get ready for the evenings entertainment “Jefferson Starship”. We have met and befriended some of the most wonderfully friendly people while we’ve been here. Everyone is here to have fun and that’s what they’ve all been doing. It has been an awesome experience and we’re so glad we came. (I hope the WIT staff are reading this blog!). We’re sad that it’s soon coming to an end and we will have to leave on Monday morning. Off to bed to start our last day here at GNR tomorrow.
Evening Sunset!

  2. We're heading home through S.Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, and Washington - we have 9 days to get home. We're hoping to do Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Deadwood, Devils Tower and anything else in between!
