Day 35 - GNR - Sunday, Sadly the Last Day

Once again we had a lazy morning - I’m really beginning to think I AM retired and I slept until 7:00 AM instead of waking between 4-5AM - what a bonus! There were no seminars etc. so we wandered over to Heritage Park next door. It was open free to WIT members with their GNR Rally name tag. Dillon, Dale and I walked around looking at the turn of the century town/farm setting they have set up there and learned a little bit of history about the surrounding area.
We should have left Dillon in the Jail!
They have a very strong Norse population and we learned some interesting things about the early Norwegian settlers here on the Prairies. They had Blacksmithing Demo’s, an old sawmill in operation and some oat threshing on very ancient farm machinery as well as an old railway tram in operation - a really fun and interesting visit. We eventually returned to the RV and Kasey who had chosen to hang out there with her friends. I had a little nap and missed the “Prop Sale” I had really wanted to go to - Dale conveniently forgot to wake me!
Someone was playing with my camera while I had a nap!

Soon it was time to attend the “Ice Cream Social” followed by the closing ceremonies. We attended the volunteers dinner and met some more fun people!
Retiring the Flags at the closing ceremonies.
Finally it was time to head back to the RV, a little bit of a start to the cleanup and pack-up for leaving in the morning, a few last goodbyes to the wonderful people we had met and then off to an early bed for a good nights sleep.
