Day 30 - GNR - It's My Birthday!

Finally adding Iowa now that it's warmer and less windy!
I was up early as usual - 5:30. I did the blog from the day before then made myself some tea and Henry and I went for a long walk. I’d like to thank Kasey for the promise of “Breakfast In Bed” - It’s the thought that counts HAHAHA! When we got back she did wake up and offer to make me a second cup. Dale made me some toast and then the three of us headed over to the Visitors Centre - Kasey to exchange her hoodie for the “right” colour and Dale into the service centre to buy a new hubcap to replace the one that’s somewhere in Saskatchewan. We’re not going to mention the cost but to the FVE members and others of you that know some of our Navion stories - “It’s a Mercedes you know”!!!!! I just went because I wanted to look around to see what I “needed”!
Kasey headed back to the grounds and we continued into town for lunch, touring and shopping. We went to “Hardee’s for lunch as we were limited on choice of restaurants - Mexican or Chinese - neither of my favourites. I paid as Dale had forgot his wallet. - It’s the thought that counts and it’s all one bank account anyhow! We wandered around a little more then picked up some party supplies from Dollar General (I got to pick my own theme - sorry Ivy and Scarlett - Nana went with a Pink and Black Zebra design instead of “Frozen”!). Last stop before heading back was “Bill’s Grocery” for a cake, appies and wine.
When we got back to the RV I was shooed away for a walk with Henry while a transformation took place under the awning and shelter and after our return we started the “Appy Party” with some of the neighbours. The popcorn chicken and BBQ’d Johnsonville Beer Brats were a big hit with everyone! None of the U.S.A. neighbours had tasted or even heard of them so they went over very well. Everyone dispersed for dinner promising to return in time for dessert.
Let's get the Party started!

Henry and I cutting the cake!

I was served a lovely T-bone steak, scalloped potatoes and green beans for my dinner - all of my favourites. It was wonderful - especially since I didn’t have to do anything - my every whim was catered to.
We took Henry for another long walk after dinner, stopping by the dealer coaches that were now open for viewing on the way back. I was a little choked to see all the people with their shoes on inside and sitting on the seats in “MY” new Winnebago Brave - you know the Yellow one! I asked the dealer if he could stop them from going in but he told me not to worry - they’d build me a new one right across the street that no one had sat in!
We went back to the Navion and continued on with the dessert part of the party - CAKE! It was great to celebrate with our neighbours, some new friends we hadn't met until they walked by and joined us, and Jeff - our “retro” Winnie owner from Mukilteo,Washington. We had a great evening around the hiss of the propane campfire until we had to disperse quickly as the mosquito fogging truck came by! A wonderful Birthday - I had so much fun I think I’ll do it again tomorrow!

Cake time!

Having cake with the neighbours - notice
how "WARM" it is with the blankets and jackets!

The winner of commenter of the day yesterday was Darlene Scott from FVE. Intermittent Wi-Fi this morning so I’ll post photos of the celebrations later - please check back soon!
